The Davenport area is set south of the Orlando attractions, but benefits from purpose built, newer developments in conservation areas. The offset of this is that shops and restaurants may be limited, with a car being essential. That said, the area is a must for golfers, with so many fantastic courses in the area to choose from.
With Interstate 4, US27 and SR17/92 routes all available, access through to the attractions, shops and restaurants is straightforward.
A gated resort of both residential and rental properties, located around 1 mile south of the intersection between Interstate 4 and US27. With a mixture of excellent properties, nicely spaced for privacy and some bordering the adjacent lake, Sunset Ridge offers a welcome retreat away from the theme parks and attractions. That said, with a quick and easy route via I4 into the parks, US192 (with its many restaurants and shops) and beyond to the International Drive area, travelling times are good.
As US27 is becoming very much the designated area for visitors, more shops and restaurants are being opened. The recent Posner Park shopping complex, which is almost opposite is a good example of this.
For golfers, there are a number of first-rate courses with 10 miles and even more just around the corner.
Literally opposite Sunset Ridge is the new Posner Park shopping centre offering major stores including JC Penney, Target, Ross, Dress for Less and many more. For snacks and eating out, local restaurants include Perkins, Denny's, Waffle House, Bob Evans, the Shamrock pub and a local pizzeria amongst others. Head for around 4 miles towards the ChampionsGate development and here you will find a Publix supermarket, a number of local restaurants, as well as the Omni Resort hotel - offering fine dining for that special occasion.
Head north on US27 for 7 miles (past the intersection with Interstate 4) and there is another Publix supermarket and shopping complex, with eateries including Applebees, Quiznos, an Indian take-away and a wine & bistro parlour. The nearest Walmart is towards Haines City - approximately 7.5 miles south of the community.
