This is the mid-section of highway US27 and encompasses a number of rental communities from the intersection with US192 down towards Interstate 4. With this area fast becoming where the majority of visitors to the Orlando area will stay, improvements to the roads have made them wider to cater for the additional traffic. Access to the attractions, shops and restaurants is via Interstate 4 or US192. Likewise, a visit to Tampa or the Gulf coast beaches is equally as straightforward via Interstate 4.

Staying in this area means a car is essential when visiting the theme parks, area attractions and the local shops.

Community Information & Reviews

West Haven is a collection of a smaller gated and non-gated communities, with upwards of 60 rental and residential properties per community. The communities at West Haven are `The Abbey`, `The Sanctuary`, `The Green`, `The Shire`, `The Hamlet` and `The Manor`.

`The Sanctuary` has high quality villas set in beautiful landscaped grounds, with tree lined boulevards and entry through a coded security gate. Villas all have traditionally red stone paved driveways with all gardens, trees and shrubs well manicured by gardeners employed by West Haven Housing Association.

Located just north of the intersection with US27 and Interstate 4, the West Haven communities border green land and orange grove area. Some of the gated communities have acacess to a communal clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, volleyball pitch and even a gymnasium.

Also, with so many first-class golf courses within the locality, this area is an absolute must for golfers!

When visiting the theme parks, access through to Walt Disney World is via Interstate 4, with Seaworld, Universal Studios and the airports all accessible further north.

With the new Posner Park shopping complex around 3 miles south of the West Haven communities (towards the intersection with Interstate 4), here you will find a number of major stores including JC Penney, Target, Ross and Dress for Less. Bordering the intersection are a number of local eateries, including Cracker Barrel, Beef O'Bradys, Waffle House, MacDonalds, Wendy's, an Asian Grill and a British tavern. The nearest Publix supermarket is around 3 miles east on CR54 at the ChampionsGate development. Here you will also find more shops and family favourite restaurants like Chilis.

Head north on US27 for a little over 5 miles for another Publix supermarket and shopping complex. There are a number of eateries including Applebees, Quiznos, an Indian take-away and a wine & bistro parlour. The nearest Walmart is approximately 3.5 miles further north - just past the junction with US192.
